Laura Soto began her training career in 1994 during her college years, when she worked with big cats in Oviedo and trained dogs at the Kennels of Tuskawilla. After college, she took employment as a correctional officer, and ultimately landed her dream job as head trainer of the Paws & Stripes Program at the Brevard County Jail. While there (2010 - 2015), Laura taught the inmates how to transform unadoptable shelter dogs into Canine Good Citizens, resulting in approximately 300 dogs finding their forever homes! Laura also taught grooming skills, canine CPR/First Aid, and trick training. Retiring early from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, Laura chose to follow her heart and open her own canine training company. Thus, Pawsitive Training Academy was born!
Laura Soto shares a home with her husband, two children, 3 cats, and 10 dogs. She understands the importance of having well-behaved pets that can live in harmony together. In addition, she is still dedicated to helping shelter animals and works closely with several rescue groups in Brevard County.
